Overview
"Room 2022" is an art installation designed by Es Devlin, which we produced and installed during Art Basel Miami on behalf of American Express.
Built within the EDITION Hotel, the site-specific 7,000 square foot immersive installation began in a re-imagined hotel room and ended in a large-scale vaulted elliptical mirror maze. Along the way, dedicated soundscapes guided visitors as they navigated through choral corridors and a flooded colorful video-saturated zoetrope.
The work utilizes the physical characteristics of hotel design to explore the psychology of human experience within these spaces, and the everyday acts of magic and imagination that allow them to function.
