Michael Bonfiglio is an Emmy-winning director, producer, writer, and camera operator known for his acclaimed documentaries and TV work.

His film "May It Last: A Portrait of the Avett Brothers" , co-directed with Judd Apatow, won the 24 Beats Per Second Audience Award at SXSW 2017 and aired on HBO. He also co-directed ESPN's "Doc & Darryl”  and directed "You Don’t Know Bo", the highest-rated 30 for 30  documentary. Bonfiglio helmed Netflix’s "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction" with David Letterman, featuring President Obama’s first post-presidency interview, and directed "Jerry Before Seinfeld", earning a Primetime Emmy nomination.

He won a Primetime Emmy as co-executive producer of "The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling"  and has directed socially impactful films like "From the Ashes"  and "Paris to Pittsburgh"  for Bloomberg Philanthropies and National Geographic.
