Biography
Lena was born and raised in the west of Ireland. After studying fine art at the National College of Art and Design, and Law at Trinity College Dublin, she moved to New York City in the late nineties.
She worked as a photographer’s assistant, a babysitter and at the prepared foods counter at Dean & Deluca before landing an internship at MTV. She rose through the ranks at MTV, oversaw channel redesigns and began directing. Her MTV promo campaigns won multiple awards including gold silver and bronze at the One show. She has since gone on to direct acclaimed ads for Google, GMC, Ebay, Honda, Michelob, McDonalds, Walmart and many many others.
Her work is recognizable for its quirky yet understated art direction and subtle nuanced performance. In addition to her commercial work she has also directed award winning short films.
When not directing she can be found at her studio on 29th street or maybe taking a cold plunge.
