F. Gary Gray is recognized as one of the industry’s most prolific and versatile directors, known for pushing the envelope and delivering innovative and exhilarating content.
With 25 years in the industry, Gray has been able to consistently and successfully maneuver between genres ranging from comedy to thriller to drama to action. He has worked with a wide range of actors including the discoveries of Jamie Foxx and Charlize Theron as new talents.
In 2015 Gray directed and produced the critically acclaimed biopic Straight Outta Compton. Gray’s other films include Law Abiding Citizen, Be Cool, The Italian Job, A Man Apart, The Negotiator, Set It Off, and Friday, which launched the extremely popular Friday film franchise.
In addition to his filmmaking, Gray is one of the most successful music video directors of all time garnering a Grammy nomination along with multiple MTV and Billboard awards for his work with artists such as Jay-Z, TLC, Ice Cube, Rick Ross, Outkast, and more. Gray’s most well known work in advertising was The Call, a trailer for Pepsi’s Super Bowl LVI starring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar.
