Biography
Having directed hundreds of music videos and commercials over the past 20 years, Dave Meyers has firmly established himself as one of the industry’s most prolific and sought-after talents. While his work spreads across all styles and genres, he is most well-known for groundbreaking VFX work, blending fantasy and reality into something completely new.
Dave got his start as a filmmaker after a chance encounter with director Gus Van Sant inspired him to jump into the world of music videos. Since then he’s worked with the industries best and brightest from Missy Elliott to Pink, Katy Perry to Janet Jackson, and one of his more recent collaborators, Kendrick Lamar, for whom Dave directed the viral music video for Lamar’s hit HUMBLE . His work has brought a slew of nominations and many awards, including two Grammys for Best Music Video and 17 MTV Video Music Awards including three for Video of the Year. Recent music videos include Saweetie and Doja Cat’s Best Friends, Ed Sheeran’s Bad Habits, Coldplay’s Higher Power, Pink’s All I Know So Far, and Drake’s Way 2 Sexy .
His advertising work includes films for Apple, Super Bowl spots for Planters, Doritos, Luminary, Budweiser, Adidas, AT&T, ESPN, HP, the NFL, Nike and a celebrated Pacific Standard Times Campaign starring Ice Cube. He has received numerous awards for his work including a Clio, a Golden Lion at Cannes, and an Art Directors Club award.
